This Privacy Policy explains how GEMI collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you visit gemi.base7.ai or use the GEMI platform. It also describes the rights you have over your personal data and how to exercise them.

2. Data we collect

• Account data. Your name, email address, organization, and the credentials used to sign in.
• Contact data. The name, email, organization, and message you submit through our contact and access-request forms.
• Usage and device data. Pages viewed, features used, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, and performance information. Optional analytics data is only collected if you allow analytics cookies.

GEMI analyzes publicly available news and open-source information. For each item, GEMI extracts computed facts and metadata, such as events, tone, themes, entities, and locations, and links back to the original source rather than hosting or republishing the content. That source material is not personal data about you and is governed by our Terms of Use rather than this Policy.

3. How we use data and our legal bases

Where data protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Contract. To create your account, authenticate you, and provide the platform.
• Legitimate interests. To secure the service, prevent abuse, and respond to enquiries.
• Consent. To load optional analytics cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation. To comply with applicable law and lawful requests.

4. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal data. We share it with service providers that process it on our behalf under contract, only as needed to operate the platform. These include providers of hosting and infrastructure, authentication, email delivery, and optional analytics. Each is bound to protect your data and to use it only on our instructions.

5. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your data. You may request details of the safeguards in place by contacting privacy@base7.ai.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above. We retain account data for the life of your account and a reasonable period afterward, contact submissions for up to 24 months, and operational records for a limited period, after which we delete or anonymize the data.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To exercise any right, email privacy@base7.ai. We respond within the time limits required by applicable law.

8. Security

We use organizational and technical measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including access controls and encryption of data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you and regulators of material breaches as required by law.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. If a change affects cookie use, the consent banner will ask for your choice again.
